Ho Chi Minh City is seeing a shift in demand with more people looking to escape urban areas for satellite towns in suburban locations. The appeal of moving is obvious. Residents can enjoy more space, be closer to nature and have access to recreational opportunities. Aqua City from Novaland is a great example of this.

Located east of Ho Chi Minh City, Aqua City is being built under a “Green Living, Clean Living” concept that will cultivate diverse natural ecosystems. This is being accomplished in part by dedicating 70 percent of the project’s land to green space, transportation infrastructure and high-quality utilities.

The end result is green living that reduces the impact residents have on the environment. The use of solar energy for public utilities and a cutting-edge waste collection and sorting system that promotes recycling are just a few of the environmentally friendly features found throughout Aqua City.

The impressive efforts of Novaland saw Aqua City win Best Sustainable Residential Development at the Dot Property Vietnam Awards 2020. Not only is the project helping improve liveability in Ho Chi Minh City, but it is also providing property seekers with an alternative that is suited to changing demands.

Do Thien Anh Tuan, Lecturer at Fulbright University Vietnam, explained to Vietnam Express that homes in smart eco-cities, such as Aqua City, are growing in popularity among the country’s middle class and super-rich. Both middle-aged people and younger adults are choosing to live in suburban housing estates with improved infrastructure making it easy to commute to the city center.

“Overcrowding and pollution are driving an increasing number of people to seek accommodation and relaxation outside of Ho Chi Minh City, particularly since the highway system was improved to make short-term travel more accessible and easier,” Tuan said.
